The students are great to work with. The campus is beautiful and allows for lessons outside between classes. The school has a lovely feel and sense of community, enhanced through elements such as the Spring and Winter Festivals. The Outdoor Ed program is fantastic.
The best thing about working at Glenaeon is my team and the staff! It is such a warm, inviting, and enriching workplace with everybody saying 'hi' when you walk past each other in the hallways, even if you haven't had many conversations or a proper introduction to that person. Preschool Room Assistant - Fixed Term, 2-4 days per week.
We are currently seeking a fixed-term, part-time Preschool Room Assistant for 2-4 days per week. Working hours will be from 10am – 5pm. Commencing as soon as possible and ending 4 December 2026.
The role of the Preschool Room Assistant is to assist in the provision of quality care for each child, providing an environment where the imagination of the child is enhanced and the development of the creative, social and physical skills is fostered, following the indications from Rudolf Steiner for early childhood education.
To be considered for this role, you must be enrolled, or qualified in a Certificate III or Diploma in Childcare/Early Childhood Education and Care. You must also have a willingness to attend Steiner Education training. Previous experience working in a Steiner Preschool or School is highly advantageous. Our ideal candidate will have a deep enthusiasm for working with children, an understanding of childhood development as indicated by Steiner education foundations and curriculum, be a team player, innovative, strong written and verbal communicator and self-reflective.
Salary for this role is classified as Preschool Childcare Services employee Level 1 or 2 in accordance with experience and qualifications under the Independent Schools NSW (Professional and Operational Staff) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025. The successful candidate must also provide a Working with Children Clearance prior to commencing and evidence of permission to work in Australia.
